I’m a songwriter, not a drummer, who was in the process of putting a group together. I have limited practice space. I bought the Singing Machine to have around, in hopes of picking up a drummer that could add percussion to our practices and to learn the tunes.

This was a great, great buy, but would recommend finding this at a reasonable price. This far exceeded my expectations. Sturdily built, good sound, no glitches.

The drummer I found (he is excellent by the way) is left handed, while I bought a right-handed set. After about 3 practices he came over on a weekend and we literally took the kit apart and rebuilt it as a left-handed set. While he doesn’t play it for the gigs, he loves it for the practices — as do I. It saves time without having to set up, break down, pack, etc.

I regard this purchase as one of the best I’ve ever made.

I bought this item as a referbish not expecting much, and was pleasently surprised. The parts went together easily and once I tweeked the amp settings it sounds good. For the most part it sounds pretty natural. It doesn’t have all of the sound of a more expensive set, but it has enough. It has a few drawbacks. I would like to get the snare pad a little higher, and it would help if the rack the floor drum pad was on was about 1 foot longer. The ride sounds good, but it is easy to go from a edge ride sound to a bell sound with out meaing to. Practice will help. The high-hat sounds better than some of the other electronic sets I’ve sampled. I also found the High-hat pedal was impossible to get where I was comfortable with it if I put it on the rack. I simply placed it to the side of the rack and it works fine for me.

I can’t compare this with the high end electronic drum sets but for a low cost set this one seems pretty good.

Wanting to practice drums in my apartment I went shopping for a new set and came across this one.

This set is a good combination of not too expensive but still good quality. I don’t think I’ll ever use this to lead a band or play in a concert, but it’s small enough to fit in the corner of the living room. The set has all the needed sounds you’d want to work on your drumming skills.

I will aknowledge some of the other critisims. Such as with the toms mounted directly onto the frame itself, it can make it hard to position each drum in a comfortable spot. But not to the the degree that it’s frustrating. I have had times when hitting one drum will trigger another light on the module, but near as I can tell, it doesn’t produce any SOUND, so this seems like a minor issue to me. With lower end electric drums, you’re not going to get the same bounce and response as a real set, but if those are the things you’re looking for, you need to be prepared to spend close to $1000.

This set was exactly what I needed to work on drums at home. It’s kind of a “get what you pay for” situation because it doesn’t include some of the classier features of more expensive models. But if you’re just looking for something to play at home, this could be just what you’re looking for.

Well…We’ve had this set for 3 days. In the three days 2 of the toms have broken. Both broke in the same manner and in the same place. A simple thin wire connecting the drum head to the circut board within. If your the least bit mechanical its an easy fix but thats not the point. I don’t know if this unit was assembled by a new guy on a Friday afternoon or what but there is obviously something wrong in the manafacturing process. All in all, when working correctly, this is a cool set. I like the options and sound quality but cant get over the bad wireing. I have decided if the third tom breaks I’m getting a refund. Good thing I kept the box.
